As a Business Unit Manager, you are responsible for the performance and strategic direction of one of our two business units. With full P&L responsibility, you lead a cross-functional team across sales, engineering, and production, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth.
This customer-facing leadership role reports directly to the Vice President Sales & Marketing and is a key development position on the path toward executive management.
Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for the business unit’s P&L
- Pricing, acquisition of new business, and continuous productivity improvement
- Development and implementation of the business unit strategy for sustained growth
- Leadership and development of a cross-functional team
- Building and maintaining long-term customer relationships
- Responsibility for contract reviews and negotiations
- Preparation and execution of the annual business unit plan (budget)
- Presentation of quarterly reports to executive management and shareholders
- Establishing a performance-driven culture with high accountability
- Taking on additional strategic or cross-functional responsibilities as required
Qualifications
- University degree, ideally with a technical background
- At least 5 years of professional experience in positions of responsibility
- Experience in leading teams (disciplinary or cross-functional)
- Strong customer and business focus, preferably in an industrial or aerospace environment
- Willingness to travel at least 30%, including internationally
- Business-fluent German and English (written and spoken)

Key Responsibilities
Independently manage ongoing financial accounting (general ledger and sub-ledgers).
Ensure proper handling of payments, including bank postings and reconciliations.
Take responsibility for fixed asset accounting, including valuation, reconciliation, and documentation.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB.
Perform account reconciliations and analyze and clarify balance sheet items (e.g., accruals, currency valuations, intercompany transactions).
Prepare and support tax filings and declarations (e.g., VAT).
Maintain and further develop accounts receivable and accounts payable master data.
Ensure accurate recording of accounting and tax-relevant transactions in the ERP system.
Handle business transactions in an international context (e.g., customs, freight, foreign transactions).
Actively contribute to the optimization and further development of finance processes.
Qualifications & Education
Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting, Finance, or a comparable qualification (e.g., Certified Accountant / Bilanzbuchhalter).
Several years of professional experience in finance and accounting.
Strong knowledge of accounting according to HGB.
Good understanding of VAT regulations (nationally, ideally also EU and third-country regulations).
Confident use of MS Excel and experience with common ERP systems (e.g., Sage, ProAlpha, INFOR).
Structured and analytical approach to complex financial matters.
Independent, responsible, and solution-oriented working style.
High level of accuracy and strong numerical and process understanding.
Team player with excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Planning and optimization of work processes, process sequences, production resources, and standard times for manufacturing and assembly, taking into account interdependent processing operations
- Rough, detailed, and fine planning of new or modified manufacturing processes based on industrial engineering, production technology, and economic principles
- Integration of production planning into the ERP system, including coordination of relevant planning parameters with specialist departments
- Preparation of target/actual comparisons, capacity analyses, schedules, and investment overviews
- Review of technical documentation for optimal feasibility, including additions or corrections if necessary
- Control and monitoring of production trials and implementation of new manufacturing processes
- Documentation of manufacturing workflows, including machine setup data
- Determination of standard times, optimal batch sizes, and implementation of inspection specifications
- Optimization of production times, introduction of efficient processes, and continuous process improvement
Qualifications & Education
- Completed technical training (e.g., technician, master craftsman, or comparable) or a degree such as Dipl.-Ing. (FH) in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on manufacturing, production, or process engineering
- Solid knowledge of industrial engineering methods (e.g., REFA, MTM) and manufacturing technologies
- Experience in design, component development, or production engineering is an advantage
- Practical experience with ERP systems in production planning
- Analytical, structured, and self-reliant working style, along with strong teamwork skills

Operational Procurement & Bottleneck Management
You ensure that our production and projects are always optimally supplied:
- Ensure material availability and on-time delivery performance
- Proactively manage bottlenecks and identify risks at an early stage
- Control inventory levels and coverage

Aufgaben
- Stammdatenpflege
- Erfassung und Bearbeitung von Bestellungen: Aufnahme von Bestellungen, Überprüfung von Details und Koordination mit Lieferanten und Kunden für eine reibungslose Abwicklung.
- Datenverwaltung und Dokumentation: Pflege von Kundendatenbanken, Aktualisierung von Bestelldaten und Erstellung von Berichten über Bestellvorgänge und Kennzahlen.
- Kommunikation und Kundenservice: Beantwortung von Kundenanfragen zu Bestellungen, Lieferstatus und Produktdetails per E-Mail oder Telefon, um einen qualitativ hochwertigen Kundenservice zu gewährleisten.
- Bestandskontrolle und Zusammenarbeit: Überwachung des Lagerbestands, Erstellung von Bestandsberichten und enge Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Abteilungen wie Vertrieb und Logistik, um Bestellabläufe zu koordinieren und Kundenaufträge termingerecht zu bearbeiten.
Vorraussetzungen
- Sie sind immatrikulierter Studierender
- Vorerfahrung in einem EDV-System sind von Vorteil
- Sie zeichnen sich durch Ihre Zuverlässigkeit und strukturierte Arbeitsweise aus
- Sie haben wöchentlich 17-20 Std. Zeit und in den Semesterferien gerne bis zu 40 Std./Woche
